Who I Am…

…a 30-something woman who is a follower of God, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the tender age of 6. I was led to the Lord by my first grade teacher, Mrs. Stone on the playground during recess. I was baptized shortly there after. I attended a Christian school for 12 years. I met my husband while I was in high school and working at Publix. We have been together for almost 18 years ~ dated for 4 1/2 and married for 14 1/2. My husband was called to be a pastor at our church during our 5th year of marriage. We’ve dealt with the death of a parent. After 3 1/2 years of infertility, we finally became the proud parents of our beautiful daughter. I have dealt with anxiety and depression. I have been at stay-at-home mom. I have worked in full time ministry ~ twice. I have worked as a teacher several different times. I have had best friends who have moved away and friends who have been forced away by circumstance. I work at a great job with wonderful people. I have a beautiful family. We still have family dinners (with my brother and his family and parents and grandparents) twice a month. I’ve lived in the same area for my whole life. I’ve only been out of the state of Florida twice. I’ve never flown on an airplane. I’ve never seen snow. Through all the good and the bad this is what I have and am learning… God is faithful.

The verse that kept us at peace through our infertility is the same that keeps me focused.

Psalm 37:4
“Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

When God is what I delight in, His desires will be my desires.

This is what I would say to you…

Psalm 34:8
“Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.”

Now it’s your turn. Who are you?

Hi! I know this is random, but I wasn’t sure how to e-mail you. I saw your blog and really liked it and wanted to know how you set some of it up (I’ve been trying to do a few things with my blog but haven’t been able to figure it out – very frustrating). So here are a few questions: How did you format the background like that? Also, how did you add that Matthew 19:5-6 button to your widgets? I’ve tried doing that in my blog, but couldn’t get it to work! You can e-mail me at: handprintsonthewall@gmail.com. I’d really appreciate it! Sorry to be a pest :(

Thanks for visiting, I’m glad I can get a giggle out of you! haha Awesome blog btw!

Hi Mindy –
Been reading your blog for awhile now. I really like it and the craft links that you have. Glad to see all that God is doing with you guys. So much talent and heart for Him to use. Wanted to ask you a question…
Made my way to money saving mom the other day and she has blogged about a website called crashcrate. Went to check it out, but hate giving out my personal info without knowing if it’s legit. Do you have any thoughts on it?

Deb ~ Thanks for reading my blog and all the nice compliments. :) It’s funny that you mentioned the CashCrate thing. I just found that post yesterday. I haven’t looked into it, but it did intrigue me. If you find out anything good about it, please let me know too.

Good question. I’d like to know too, lol.

Hi! Thanks so much for that Coldstone card!! :) I am so anxious to go and enjoy some ice cream… that’s my reward for surviving these last few days of school! ;)
And by the way, that bag you made is really cute — you should sell them.
Have a beautiful evening!
